Leaders Again Dominate The Distance Races At Casino

As expected, the two heat winners of the Distance Trophy dominated the final at last Friday’s meeting. Both Bundanoon and Bralyn Sal had led throughout in the heats, and soon after the start this week, Bralyn Sal was highballing out in front.

As the field went out of the straight for the first time danger loomed, as Bundanoon positioned himself right behind the leader. Light Of Trey got out well and kicked clear in the back section to bolt away with the Richmond Valley Pet Foods stake. He scored by nine lengths in a fast 22.93. Ferocious Lad also began fast and held the rails as they went to the back. Scooting away, he went on to win by 4 1/2 lengths in 23.33 for owner Don Jones. Besides his rearing and training at , Peter also runs a greyhound courier business, so he’s on the job seven days a week.

Tah Bella was rewarded for he consistency when she held off a determined Kingsbrae Jane in 23.42. The Steve Casey trained sprinter seems to like Casino where she has had nine starts for two wins and three placings. Friday’s win was in a personal best time.

The trained Woodview Lass won her second distance race at the track when she was an all of the way winner in the stake. Getting staright onto the bunny she waltzed away to win by 3 1/4 lengths. She also improved her time to run 35.91.

Jo Jo’s Delight returned Richie Vrckoff to the winners list when she ran 23.51 to win the opening maiden, and was first out and first home for Beryl and in a 3 1/2 length victory. She was back in grade and ran 23.09.

‘s Bouncy trailed the leader to the back before bouncing on the lead and running 27.50, while Sammy’s Tears jumped straight to the front to run the best time over 484 metres – 27.35. Neil Falls puts the polish on her.

Ted Rose Hi gave Trevor Thompson his usual winner when he ran 27.89, and Cheeky Nera closed out the meeting when she ran 23.21 for .
