Kay And Edmondson Size Up The Gardens

The One winning team of Julie Edmondson and will once again be a dominant force at today’s Gardens meeting.

Yesterday the pair’s kennel star, ran a 24.94 to be the fastest qualifier for the Group Two Maitland Gold Cup. The time was only two hundredths of a second outside Accounts’ 450 metre course record and he should start a hot favourite in the final, which is worth $25,000 to-the-winner next Thursday.

Earlier this year, Elite Blue Size won the Group Two in January, before taking out the Group One NCA National Derby at a month later.

Today at The Gardens, Edmondson will line up Elite Blue Size’s litter sister, Size It Up in the sixth event, the Blue Flash Stake (515 metres), while Kay has Seize The Moment engaged in race three, the Laurie’s Stake (413 metres).

Size It Up, a daughter of Elite State and Size ‘em Up, is exceptionally well bred, not only is she out of the same litter as Elite Blue Size, but she hails from one of the best dam lines in racing, which boasts Group One winners, Made To Size and Size Can Matter.

Size It Up, which will jump from box three, has won five races from 15 career starts, including a fast 29.89 for The Gardens 515 metre journey.

Kay’s Seize The Moment has built up an imposing record, winning 18 of his 28 starts, including a sizzling 23.55 at the track and distance and will start an odds on favourite from box eight.
