Packham Silk sets new personal best with Goulburn win
Packham Silk led all the way to take her first win at Goulburn on Friday on her second attempt at the track.
Trained by Anthony Azzopardi, the Victorian chaser lined up in the 350m fifth-grade race as a -1250 favourite with top online greyhound bookmakers.
Jumping from the red box, Packham Silk used the inside draw to strike the lead soon after box rise and held the position for the entire journey, winning by four and a half lengths over Queen Mercury (+2500) and Mellcat John Boy (+650).
The winning time of 19.65 marked a new personal best and was the fastest run of the meeting.
Last time out, on September 15, she finished runner-up over the 350m journey at Goulburn on her first look at the track, four-and-three-quarters behind kennelmate Renegade Cochise.
She last saluted on August 16, beating home Slingshot Woody by one-and-three-quarter lengths in a fifth-grade heat at the Ballarat 390m.
Packham Silk boasts a 100% record of podium finishes, notching seven wins and four placings from 11 career starts.
