Outstanding bitch She's All Class (Dyna Lachlan – It's A She) made it nine wins in succession on Monday night at the Tote Racing Centre when she prevailed in Division 1 of the J G Nelson Cup Final (515 metres).
The David Crosswell owned and prepared bitch displayed her customary early brilliance to lead the field from the blue box, but then had to pull out all stops to hold out the Gary Johnson prepared Megalith (Bit Chili – Mega Me) in the concluding stages.
Just a length separated the pair at the wire in a best of the night time of 30 seconds, with the victor paying a win dividend of $2.
Division 2 of the JG Nelson Cup Final (515 metres) was taken out by the Debbie Cannan prepared bitch Miss Kiss (Collision – Paris St Germain), which also led throughout from the white box.
It was her third win in succession and she ran 30.01 in defeating Stylish Abbey (High Earner – Stylish Moon) by a length and paying a win dividend of $6.
The Ted Medhurst prepared Buckle Up Wes ( Collision – Everlong Bale) was sent out favourite for the event at $1.80, but unfortunately was tardy from the boxes and then ran into a traffic jam which denied him any chance of winning.
Former Victorian trainer Paul Hili was seen in the winners circle following Division 3 of the JG Nelson Cup Final (515 metres) with the lightly raced Proven Fantasy (Premier Fantasy – Proven Polly).
The chaser recorded a time of 30.16 in defeating Vel Magic (Velocette – Magical Potion) by four lengths and paid a handsome win dividend of $11.
Meanwhile at Tuesday's NWGRC meeting conducted at the Devonport Raceway, the Maurie Strickland prepared Zipping Rocky (Goodesy – Sirocco Lass) was responsible for an outstanding performance to take out the Betta Milk Grade 5 (452 metres).
A conspicuous last early in the event, he displayed great pace to circle the field and take up the running, eventually winning by nine lengths in a slippery 25.76.
Zipping Rocky has now won two of five starts since being transferred to the astute trainers Bracknell kennel and appears likely to go on with it.
Another Strickland kennel occupant, the consistent Teddy Tom Boy (Aston Galilee – Patsy Anne), recorded the fastest time of the day at Tuesday's meeting when he recorded 25.60 in winning the Simon's Carpet One Grade 4 (452 metres).
The chaser defeated the Keith Nicholls prepared Got Beer Goggles (Knocka Norris – Regent Ebony) by six lengths and was sent out favourite as a $2.30 commodity.
Rosevale trainer Wanda Hodgetts enjoyed a welcome change of luck at the meeting when Seacraft ( Bit Chili – Katy O'Reilly) was successful in the Furniture City Maiden (452 metres).
The chaser defeated Capetown Elusive ( Collision – Fine Line) in the time of 26.48 while paying a win dividend of $7.90.
