Striker Light sensational in Golden Easter Egg final
STRIKER Light has scored the biggest victory of her career with a stunning display in the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg (520m) at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.
Jumping from box seven, Striker Light was outpaced in the early stages by roughie Lagoon Jazzy (box eight) which took the lead in the run to the line on the first occasion.
Down the back Striker Light found the front, but Lagoon Jazzy wasn’t giving in, sticking with her Victorian rival right to the finish, however Striker Light was able to get the final say, saluting by a neck in 29.99.
Big Flood (box four) rounded out the trifecta in third spot, with Lucky Chap (box three) filling the first four.
Trained by Brett and Kelly Bravo, Striker Light is a daughter of Kc And All and Pretty Fancy and has now won 13 of her 20 starts.
The George Farrugia-owned bitch, which had previously won the Group 1 National Futurity at Wentworth Park, took her career earnings to above the $380,000 mark with the victory.
