Talented youngster Dinali Keroma wins again at Gosford to bring up a hattrick

Talented youngster Dinali Keroma has now won three races in-a-row and has run 29.69 at Gosford at his first attempt past 388m racing.

Exciting youngster Dinali Keroma won at his first start further than 400m on Tuesday night at Gosford, to extend his unbeaten run to three back-to-back wins.

The -sired dog was sent to the boxes a red hot -181.82 favourite with greyhound betting apps, and did not let punters down.

Aided by two vacant boxes to his outside, Dinali Keroma was only average to begin, but mustered quickly to lead the field to the winning post the first time in 4.54 (best).

After getting on the wrong leg through the first corner, the Pitstock family owned and trained black dog broke 17 second to the back, running 16.96 seconds (best), before coming home in 12.73.

Dinali Keroma cruised away to a 3.0 length victory in a best-of-night 29.69 time.

Tarawi Lock Star did well to finish close enough to the rising young talent as a +2200 outsider with greyhound bookmakers.

Gosford 5th Grade 515m June 6 2023 – Dinali Keroma (29.69) T: Susan Pitstock

Dinali Keroma did a few things wrong in the run at his first attempt at 500m racing, and will definitely improve again, having had all three prior starts over the Gosford 338m corner start.

Dinali Keroma had hit the line very hard at his previous 388m runs at the same greyhound track, and had given every indication that the 515m journey, and perhaps longer, would suit better, but seemingly lost a little of that late strong finish at his first 500m attempt.

That said the 29.69 run makes him the 26th quickest greyhound around the Gosford track in a 5th Grade race this year, and a modest improvement would have him break in to the top 10 5th Grade runs of the year, where the benchmark is currently at 29.56.

By contrast, his sire Dual Keroma won his first Gosford 5th Grade race in 4.44, 29.77.

The lightly raced chaser is yet to be unplaced, having now had four race starts for three wins and a third.

By Dual Keroma (Lochinvar Marlow x Duanna Keroma) out of Kinloch Brae sired-bitch , Dinali Keroma was bred by Tasmanian breeder , and is owned and trained by husband and wife team, Ray and Susan Pitstock.

The sire, Dual Keroma, raced 59 times for 21 wins, 11 seconds and four thirds, earning $97,085 in prizemoney for the same connections.

The 32kg black greyhound was fastest qualifier for the 2018 final, and was a finalist for the 2018 1 .

Dual Keroma is one of the few greyhounds standing at stud in Australia who has greyhound coursing form to his name, having won the 2017 Waterloo Purse at Longwood.

Dinali Keroma's recent wins have given the unheralded sire a 50% runners to winners strike rate as a greyhound sire.

It wasn't for the Pitstock's on Tuesday night though, with falling in a roughly run heat of the $75,000 to-the-winner Thunderbolt heat, where Keinbah's Robert Howard trained both Thunderbolt heat winners.

Ray and Susan Pitstock had been looking for their second winning double in as many visits to their home track.

Dinali Keroma will likely return to Gosford for another 515m 5th Grade race next week, or alternatively the Pitstock's may hold him back for a 1-3 win 5th Grade at Gosford on June 27.
