Richmond greyhound racing preview & free tips | Friday, 10/1/25

The spotlight shines brightly on Richmond this Friday night with another massive 11-race program set to begin at 7.20pm AEDT. Four heats of a 401m fifth grade series will be the highlight of the night, along with a nice middle-distance race. It will be a great night of racing, and Australian Racing Greyhound has delved deep into the form to find you three of the best.
Richmond Best Bet – Busy Man (Race 11)
Busy Man is yet to taste defeat in his five career starts; however, he may just face his sternest test here with quality up-and-comer Grid Girl drawn in the same race. Busy Man stepped up in grade and beat a good 4th and 5th grade field in a flying 17.89 last start and whilst he is awkwardly drawn in box six, he does get an important vacant box under him to help him reach his top speed without any interference. If he jumps well and runs 17.89 again, he will win this race.

Next Best – Zipping Ali (Race 2)
Zipping Ali is another with a perfect start to his career. He is four from four here over the 320m and the step up to 401m looks ideal at this point of his preparation. He is not the world’s best beginner, which may cause him some trouble over this distance on the corner start, but he is blessed with amazing mid-race pace. He draws perfectly on the inside of his rivals and if he can just hold Sneaky Chamber out in the early dash, he will power to the line and make it five from five.

Best Value – Make Them Cry (Race 6)
Make Them Cry did enormously well to hold the fence and was flying late in a hot Group 2 Gosford Gold Cup final last start to be beaten less than a length. She will appreciate the step up to 600m and whilst horribly drawn in box four, she should have the early pace to get across the face of the field and lead. She will be at the best price you will see for her in some time at the top greyhound bookmakers in this middle-distance debut, especially if she does find the fence in front early and races away with a fast win.
