Richmond greyhounds preview & free tips | Friday, January 24

Richmond will play host to 10 terrific races this Friday night, with the opener set for 7:42pm local time. With races from 320m to 520m over all the grades, there is always something for everyone at Richmond. Australian Racing Greyhound has delved deep into the form and come up with three of the best bets for the night.
Race 5: King Can’t Win (1)
King Can’t Win has been a model of consistency over the Richmond 401m with six wins and three placings from 11 starts. He draws beautifully in box one but will need to begin better than he did last start, and he does have a tendency to need a few metres to rev up his engines. With that said, other than Peckham Lass there is no real pace here, and he should get the gun run along the fence to push through and race away from them.
Best Bet
Race 5 –
King Can’t Win (1)
Form: 84321 | Career: 15: 7-2-1 | Trainer: Peter Lagogiane
Race 6: Grid Girl (3)
Grid Girl ran into the flying machine that is Busy Man last week and still finished a very respectable third. There is no Busy Man in this race, and Grid Girl just has to begin like she did in her previous races and look to clear the inside two dogs. She has had six career starts for four wins and two placings, all here over the 320m, and has a personal best that would win this race comfortably.
Race 9: Mrs Chop (1)
Mary Hughes has been having a great run of late with West Rock Casey and Late Night News, and there is no reason Mrs Chop can’t add to the recent success for the kennel. She has been freshened up for this race and draws perfectly in box one, where she has had nine of her 16 wins to date. With a clean getaway, she can certainly hold the fence and win at what should be good value odds in a tough race.
Best Value
Race 9 –
Mrs Chop (1)
Form: 62035 | Career: 132: 16-23-22 | Trainer: Mary Hughes
