Greyhound media expert James Van de Maat had bred Burn Along when he was purchased at three months old for a price of $4500 by the Remembering-Red Syndicate.
The name of the syndicate that owns him—'Remembering Red'—holds meaning as it pays tribute to Paul Kirchers wife Leanne who tragically lost her battle, with breast cancer.
Anticipation is running high among the syndicate members, including Jones, his partner Maria Barber, Jones son Jackson and their close friends as they eagerly await Burn Alongs performance, in the race for a prize of $83,000.
Jones, who served as the president of Healesville GRC in the past recalls his encounter with Van de Maat during their time on the HGRC committee.
He speaks highly of Burn Along from the beginning praising his chasing abilities and impressive speed. Burn Along has shown consistency with four victories in his seven races.
Jones attributes this success to their training approach that focuses on developing stamina and strength as the young greyhound grows.
