Mackenna leads NSW to clean sweep in Origin Greyhound Series
NSW achieved a 3-0 win, against Queensland in the TAB Origin Greyhound Series at Albion Park on Thursday evening, where Mackenna clinched a victory in a head-to-head race to wrap up a dominant performance.
Even though NSW had already secured a win before the showdown, the thrilling race between Mackenna and Queensland’s Jay Is Jay provided a fitting finale to the series.
Mackenna emerged as the winner, claiming the $50,000 prize and sealing NSW’s sweep with the top greyhound bookmakers having her marked as the $2.40 outsider.

The triumph came after Palawa King and Overflow Beau scored victories in the Origin Distance and Origin Sprint races, both sporting the sky blue four-rug.
Palawa King’s win propelled him past $1 million in prize money under trainer Jack Smiths guidance, while Overflow Beaus 29.59 second run in the Origin Sprint put him in contention for the Group 1 Brisbane Cup.
The Queensland rising star Valpolicella, surpassed the $1 million prize threshold with a third-place finish in the Origin Distance race.
After two years of Queensland’s dominance, the shield is back in NSW.
