Wentworth Park greyhound tips | Summer Plate heats – Thursday 9/1
Thursday night will see Wentworth Park host 10 terrific races; the first race starts at 6:49pm Sydney time.
The highlight is undoubtedly the heats of the Group 2 Summer Distance Plate over the 720m, but they are well supported with some great graded action and a couple of maiden heats.
Australian Racing Greyhounds has looked over the fields and come up with our best for the night plus a preview of the Group 2 heats.
Group 2 Summer Plate Heat 1 Best Bet – Late Night News (Race 6)
Late Night News has been all the rage since stepping up to the staying ranks. He is three from three over this trip and only getting better and looks the dog to beat. Law Book steps up to the 720m for the first time and she often shows good pace in her races and looks the early leader. Canya Vivi comes up from Victoria with only moderate middle distance form. Darryl Bandit chases his heart out but is just a fraction off this class. While Boxcar Molly and Siska Lucy are honest but would need luck and a win would surprise.

Group 2 Summer Plate Heat 2 Best Bet – Canya Amy (Race 7)
Canya Amy gets the gun draw and while touted to be a top-class stayer, she has just found Wenty Park a touch tougher than anticipated, but this race isn’t that tough. I’m Sally has great form over this trip with two wins and a second, but this is a massive step up in class. King Tide is another Lord runner having his first 720m run and has run some sizzling middle-distance times. If he finds the bunny early, he may just run them off their feet. Sin Rap Explode can lead and run a cheeky race if he does so, and a win would shock Cassie Cool or Orana Ringo.

Wentworth Park Best Bet Of The Day – Zipping Papalii (Race 9)
Zipping Papalii has only had the two career runs for two good wins here at Wenty and his last start was superb, running fast sectional times on his way to a big win in a best of the night 29.67secs. Other than Euphoria in box seven, there is no early pace in this race at all and it should afford Zipping Papalii the opportunity to begin fast once again and lead this race from go to whoa.

Wentworth Park Next Best – Cheeky Evie (Race 3)
Cheeky Evie comes to Wenty Park with three wins and five placings from her eight runs to date. Her last win at Richmond was impressive, as she had the horrible box eight and had to work the entire race, including being checked on the home turn and still managed a strong win in best of the night time. With no real early pace in this race, Cheeky Evie may well find herself in front early and if that happens, there is nothing here that can run her down.
