Over that three month stretch he 10 starts for 7 wins and 2 placings and he took at his first Group race victory.
His biggest victory career coming in the West End Draught Anniversary Cup in April. He defeated Scull Murphy in the $25,000 Group 3 Final.
Before that in March, he had taken to the national stage, by running two great races in the Perth Cup. He began with an impressive Heat win and followed it with an unlucky, but meritorious third placing in the Group 1 Final.
Drink Driver finished the year with a total of 10 wins and 10 placings from 29 starts, all in top grade.
His earnings for the year topped $66,000, taking his career total to $85,000.
