Interstate Raids Begin On 2011 Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg
Victorian trained greyhounds have conquered seven of the 21 Golden Easter Eggs already decided.
Last Saturday at Wentworth Park Victorian trainer, Andrea Dailly, staked her claim on this year's event with Dyna Tron taking out the evening's third Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg Prelude (520m), guaranteeing his spot in the April 9 heats.
Saturday's Preludes saw impressive performances from Dyna Tron, Redfern Fever and Adam Meway which now join Monster Jack, Chenzhou Boy and Marina's Pride as having confirmed places in the Group 1 event should they nominate.
A son of Collision, Dyna Tron opened up a two length lead over fellow Victorian Iceman Raikkonen going into the back straight, after positioning himself well at the first turn to avoid interference.
The first interstate qualifier maintained a healthy break on the field, recording a two length win in 30.23.
Owen Langley trained Redfern Fever made the most of his box one draw, stepping from the boxes well to lead all the way, over the fast finishing Priminate and Dusty Arizona in 30.48.
In the first of Saturday's Preludes it was Adam Meway which returned to NSW in the lead up to the Golden Easter Egg, after two starts in Victoria at The Meadows (30.27) and Sandown (29.56), to post his fourth successive win, winning in 30.29.
The Anthony Azzopardi trained greyhound dashed to the lead entering the back straight, kicking clear to record a 2¾ length victory over Full Blast, which has now run second in Golden Easter Egg Preludes in consecutive weeks.
Nominations for the final three Preludes closed this morning with a number of interstate runners nominated to contest the events to ensure their April 9 positions.
