Golden Sands Heat 1 Best Bet – Groovebird (Box 1)
Groovebird (Box 1) looks the top pick for this 600m event at Albion Park, bringing excellent form and a strong affinity for the inside draw, where she has won three of five starts. An unlucky run in the 2024 Sale Cup final from box 8, should suit the insdie box a little more and the drop back to 600m. Bootin’ Boodie (Box 4) also rates highly, fresh off a determined win over this trip, while Zipping Kai (Box 6), a Group 1 winner over 600m, has the strength to challenge despite a tricky draw. Tagovailoa (Box 3) is another with claims, having clocked a sharp 34.80 here in December. Groovebird’s early pace and favourable draw make her the standout at $3.50 with the top greyhound bookmakers.

Golden Sands Heat 2 Best Bet – Nangar Gypsy (Box 3)
Nangar Gypsy (Box 3) is the standout in this 600m heat at Albion Park, coming off a dominant all-the-way win here last week in a sharp 34.81. She’s unbeaten over the trip and looks well-placed to repeat the feat. Autumn Storm (Box 8) had no luck last time but won impressively from this draw two starts ago, showcasing her early speed and preference for wide boxes. Succeed (Box 6) brings solid Victorian form and has been competitive at Group level, making her an intriguing debutant over this track and trip. One More Beer (Box 4), a strong finisher, was narrowly beaten last start and remains a danger with clear running. Expect a competitive race, but Nangar Gypsy’s proven form gives her the edge.

Golden Sands Heat 3 Best Bet – Ethanol Water (Box 7)
Ethanol Water (Box 7) is the class runner here, bringing Group 1-winning form over 715m and a strong placing at Sale last start over 640m. She’s proven over 600m and has an excellent record from wide draws. Zipping Chaplin (Box 3) is a danger, stepping up in trip after a dominant Wentworth Park win in best-of-night time. He’s a reliable competitor who can perform well with clear running. Big Boy Bentley (Box 2) has demonstrated potential during this trip, showing a preference for inside draws and the potential to set the terms if he jumps cleanly. Shadows Of Blue (Box 4) offers value as an experienced campaigner tackling this distance for the first time at this track. Expect Ethanol Water to demonstrate its class as the clear betting app favourite.

Golden Sands Heat 4 Best Bet – Groovebird (Box 1)
Newton Hayze headlines a quality field in Heat 4 of the Golden Sands. A proven performer with three wins over this track and distance, Newton Hayze will aim to rebound from an unplaced effort last start. Victorian visitor Ethanol Volume brings elite credentials, including a Group 1 placing, while Tully Luna arrives with strong recent form and the ability to finish powerfully from wide draws. Garrison, a local standout, adds depth to the heat with his proven record at the 600m. We could see the upset of the heats if Newton Hayze can jump and lead on the first corner; at $13 odds, he is a beautiful each-way bet with BlondeBet.
