Double Twist Has The Edge In 2013 Xmas Gift Final

In a line-up of talented greyhounds from the Eastern states, New South Wales star chaser Double Twist, produced a stunning last ditch effort to secure the Three $25,000 Xmas Gift for owner Jason Lymbery and trainer Garry Edwards.

As expected, the first turn was no place for the faint-hearted with Electro Storm (7) and Tee Brady (8) crossing from the wide alleys only to suffer heavy inference along with Edge and Satchmo's Hanky who also began well.

Double Twist was forced back in the field and after receiving a few checks of interference and as they headed into the back straight Edge shot clear over Tee Brady, who was chasing gallantly. As they turned for home it appeared the trophy was heading to the Hunter Valley, however in an extraordinary burst of speed, Double Twist mowed down the leader to score by a neck in 29.87.

A daughter of Where's Pedro and staying star , Double Twist secured her 19th win last night from just 35 starts and took her prize money total to $110,785, a figure that will continue to rise with similar performances.
