Miss Elly Mint Breaks Gardens Track Record……..Again

Just one week after shaving .08 of a second off the The Gardens 431m track record, News South Wales glamour girl and winner of 18 of her last 19 starts, Miss Elly Mint has down it again.

Starting from box four in the rich Novocastrian Series Final at last night, the trained and owned Hunter Valley winning machine went bang again at boxrise and led the field to the first section in 11.80, .04 quicker than when she set the record the week prior in the heats.

The writing was on the wall and her opposition were struggling behind her, but the question was could she keep it going to the line to break the record for the second time in just seven days.

The $2,750 first prize winner's was never in doubt as the predominantly white daughter of ~ Indigo Mint cruised through the hom corner and in to the straight, a good eight lengths clear; the only eyes were .

23.45.

For the second week in a row she had bettered the 431m track record.

It's a good thing for the sprinters at The Gardens that the 2009 1 starts in just over week at on Saturday 28th March 2009; or they would be in danger of never seeing the winning post first again with Miss Elly Mint clearly near unbeatable on her home circuit.

Miss Elly Mint's record now stands at 61 starts for 40 wins and 11 placings for total career prizemoney of $151,190, but the small addition to her statistics pales in to significance next to the fact that last night's race was just one more to hopefully what will be her crowning glory, the $150,00 to the winner 2009 Group 1 Golden Easter Egg.
