2009 Group 1 Nice Products Golden Easter Egg Final Detailed Form
Comment : Currently the leading sprinter in New South Wales has won 22 of her last 23 starts and loves Wentworth Park. Was again impressive in her semi final win posting her usual fast sections of 5.35 and 13.73 before running 29.89. Like most Group 1 finals box one is a distinct advantage and for an outstanding sprinter like Miss Elly Mint it should serve her well given her impeccable box manners and early speed. She should be there for a long way and is certainly a great chance of taking home the Egg.

Comment : Nice type who chased home the speedy Joanne Monelli last week in the fastest semi. Lightly raced with three wins on the track. May lack a bit of experience but has a solid future. Will need some luck to win and a place chance looks her best hope.

Comment : Surprise packet of the series, a smart Western Australian that finished unplaced in the recent Perth Cup but has come to Sydney and performed well. Super impressive last week in the semi when she recorded the fastest time of the night 29.76. Her first section of 5.52 is a bit of a worry however she could sit off the pace and is a genuine chance of winning if something goes wrong with the leaders. Each-way all day off last week’s effort.

Box 4 Record : 8 Starts – 3 wins – 3 placings
Comment : Champion greyhound with an abundance of early pace has won everything in a star studded career and was recently crowned the 2008 Australian Greyhound of the Year. By his standards he looked a little flat in his semi win in 29.88. However he has won on the track in 29.60 and a repeat would see him win again. Success would make him the highest stake earner in history and he is a main player again, bookmakers may take a risk as he will likely have to race outside Miss Ell Mint for the trip, but is good enough to overcome that.

Box 5 Record : 2 Starts – 1 wins – 1 placings
Comment : Extremely talented sprinter with nine wins at Wentworth Park including a best of 29.79. Box five no help in this classy field and he will need a lot of luck to win. Not a noted fast beginner and from the five he will need things to go his way, trainer knows how to put the polish an Easter Egg finalist but is yet to taste success and will be hoping Radio Star can turn his luck around.

Comment : Capable performer in a strong kennel hasn’t won on the track which won’t help in this field. Has raced extremely well making three group finals since shifting to Victoria from Queensland but has the job in front of him here place chance at best will start big odds.

Comment : Very smart greyhound that has suffered no end of drama in his career looked very impressive in winning his heat and semi. Five wins on the track stands him good stead and a big thrill for his owner-trainer to get him this far in a major Group 1. Will need a bit of luck in running but has some claims to victory as he is racing particularly well at the moment.

Comment : Solid third last week behind El Galo is a real smart youngster with a bright future. Would be long odds if he gains a start, but on best times would not be out of it completely
