The 8 Finalists are:

2013 Golden Easter Egg Final

Box 1 – Cracker Jack Lil $8.00

Breeding: Go Wild Teddy – Lil’s Memory
Prize Money: $54,205
Best Time: 29.72
Comment: The brilliant young Victorian who posses impeccable box manners, and this attribute, has seen her win 19 of 28 starts. She has come up with the percent box, and will lead this field early. She’s run a flying 5.33 first sectional and she should repeat that again tonight. She can win this, but will need the others to do a few things wrong. Expect her to hold the lead around the first turn, but she going up have to find something to hold a few of these out in the run to the line.

Box 2 – General Destini $4.40

Breeding: – Greys Destini
Prize Money: $189,930
Best Time: 29.71
Comment: Honest is the day is long this fellow. And he’s drawn perfectly here in box 2. He’s going to get the run of the race here, in behind early leader Cracker Jack Lil. But does he have the sheer speed to run over the top of them here, probably not. He gets his chance here to win this, and his best hope of this will lay with Cracker Jack Lil. He will sit right in behind her early, and if the outside division find trouble, expect him to be charging at Cracker Jack Lil on the line. Will need luck and should be $12.00

Box 3 – Punch One Out $2.80

Breeding:
Prize Money: $49,369
Best Time: 29.27 (Track Record)
Comment: “Shake the life out of this” is what I stated in the first review we did in the heats and by golly has she done that. She smashed the track record last start running a breathtaking 29.27 and has been enlisted as the outright favorite.
as high as $3.00 is being offered about this girl, and my suggestion is too mortgage the house on her. She won’t get beat! A bold and rash statement, but I truly believe this is the fastest bitch in Aus. Jason Mckay, has stated Punch One Out has “finally worked out the boxes at Wenty” and that’s evident in her own first sectional of 5.34 last week. Expect her to land just outside early leader Cracker Jack Lil, And in between, Sometimes Speedy. If she does, get in the line to collect. It won’t matter whether she hits the front mid way, or has to run down the early leaders. Bad luck won’t be this bitches excuse if she doesn’t win.

Box 4 – Grigorieva Bale $14.00

Breeding: – Kingston Bale
Prize Money: $179,055
Best Time: 29.66
Comment: The owned dog cannot be overlooked in this. Everyone has written him off. He will have to do it tough from box 4 and can’t lead the inside 3 in this. So how can he beat them, he probably can’t. But don’t rule him completely out, he has a quicker PB then 6 runners in this race. Only the Track Record holder Punch One Out, and the flying Sometimes Speedy, have run quicker times. He’s going to need a miracle here, but anything can happen. Keep him safe.

Box 5 – Winsome Charlee $18.00

Breeding: Where’s Pedro- Ramblin Ruby
Prize Money: $50,410
Best Time: 29.77
Comment: Runner number 1, for John and Minni Finn, and what a thrill it must be two have 2 finalists in the 1 Golden Easter Egg. Winsome Charlee will need all the luck she can get. She will be last rounding the first turn, and although she has a massive finish, it’s hard too see her running the entire field down in this. Not without a hope, as she will drop out and rail hard, but she should be 30/1 in this.

Box 6 – Hot Irish $15.00

Breeding: – Love Craves It
Prize Money: $317,960
Best Time: 29.80
Comment: The most experienced and richest greyhound in the race, and makes Golden Easter Egg Final number 2. It’s hard too see her winning this from box 6. But I gave her a huge chance from the start, and each time she’s had he doubters. Once again the doubters are warranted, but champions find a way to win, and her experience and will to win, will carry her a long way in this. From box 6 she will find herself behind a lot of dogs early, and will need plenty of luck to win. Don’t write her off though, you won’t find a more consistent hard chasing bitch.

Box 7 – Sometimes Speedy $4.00

Breeding: Collision – Gemstone Supreme
Prize Money: $136,885
Best Time: 29.61
Comment: I closely follow the South Australian greyhounds, and have watched this bitch from the start. And if someone would have said to me, this bitch would win the futurity and be second favourite in the Golden Easter Egg I would of laughed. But since coming across she’s found 10 lengths. And has won 9 in a row and looms as a serious contender in this. Unbeaten here with a PB of 29.61 and box 7 won’t worry her. Expect her to ping and race right up outside Punch One Out, and Cracker Jack Lil. She certainly can win this but will have to cut Punch one Out early, and then hold her off again in the run home. Great chance.

Box 8 – Sheikha $18.00

Breeding: Collision – I’m Exceptional
Prize Money: $122,020
Best Time: 29.84
Comment: Great bitch who has proven myself and many others wrong. Box 8 won’t suit and it will take a miracle for her to win this. She won’t cross the inside runners, and can’t run them down. A fantastic achievement to make the final, but appears as of this is as far as the fairytale goes.
