The $13500 to the winner race involves two of WA’s most exciting chasers in Zelemar Fever and On Coin. Although both were defeated last week in the heats by the flying Sveta Monelli, the pair are sure to put on a show in the final.
Jumping from boxes one (Zelemar Fever) and two (On Coin), all eyes will be on the inside of the track. Although these two chasers are in a class of their own, they will have to be close to their best to defeat the rest of the field.
Ben Abercrombie’s Burzynski has shown time and time again that his explosive speed out of the boxes can win him races.
Sveta Monelli for trainer David Hobby put in a personal best performance in the heats last week, defeating both On Coin and Zelemar Fever. Hobby’s three other entrants in Luba Monelli, Houdini Monelli and Merlot Monelli cannot be forgotten. Luba Monelli looks to be the best drawn out of the kennel, with wide box draws for Houdini Monelli and Merlot Monelli potentially causing them a bit of trouble.
Comments: Linda Britton (trainer) – “She is very lucky again to draw the red box. She should get a clear run with On Coin. If she gets through the first corner without any trouble she should do well.”
Comments: John Crossley (trainer) – “I am very pleased with an inside draw. Zelemar Fever will take some beating from box one but it will be an interesting race. David Hobby’s Sveta Monelli is going well and Ben Abercrombie’s Burzynski is great out of the boxes.”
Comments: David Hobby (trainer) – “She is a chance for a place. She is drawn on the inside, making her a better chance then the other dogs. If she gets a run along the rails she may be in with a bot of a chance.”
Comments: David Hobby (trainer) – “She will need a bit of a break, she will need to find herself in the lead if she is any chance. It all depends what happens with Zelemar Fever and On Coin.”
Comments: Ben Abercrombie (trainer) – “Naturally he is a bit of a chance. He ran his personal best time last week, over excelling himself and did not pull up the best after the run. So he hasn’t had the best preparation coming into the race. He is also drawn awkwardly from box six, against a very hard field.”
Comments: David Hobby (trainer) – “He has very little chance. He is drawn too wide to be in with a chance. He will want the rails but will find it hard to get their.
