2013 WA Anniversary Cup Review
On Coin won the battle between himself and Zelemar Fever this week, even if it was only for the minor placing in their heat of the WA Cannington Anniversary Cup.
David Hobby’s Sveta Monelli was able to steal the win from the duo after finding the front of the field out of the boxes. Jumping from box four in the second heat, Sveta Monelli went 5.62 early on her way to recording her personal best time of 30.20, paying $4.40 for the win.
Zelemar Fever found herself in unfamiliar territory, five dogs back from the lead and in the green rug after being held wide on the first bend. Not even On Coin and his spectacular come-from-behind tactics could bring him close to the leading Sveta Monelli who continued to stretch her lead before hitting the line.
Hobby ran second with Merlot Monelli who was unable to match the quick stride of kennel mate Sveta Monelli.
The first heat saw Ben Abercrombie’s Burzynski do much the same from box four. The white and black dog by Premier Fantasy ex. Tayza showed just how useful his early speed could be when he crossed a quick jumping Lighting Bug on the first corner.
Jumping at $2.60, Burzynski had little chance of being run down after majority of the field caused each other trouble.
With just the two heats of the Anniversary Cup, each heat saw the four place getters receive a direct invitation to the final the following week.

Sounds like a redhot run from sveta monelli. Hard to catch when they’re running 30.20
