Ando’s Mac wins 2016 Group 1 Vic Peters Classic

ANDO'S Mac stamped himself as one of the most promising youngsters in the country with a win in Saturday night's Vic Peters Classic (520m) at .

Exploding from box six, the -trained sprinter went straight to the front in the run towards the first turn, kicking clear of kennel mate (box five) through the catching pen.

Once out in front it was a case of times and margins, with the son of and Brook's Doll stretching out to score by five and a half lengths in a scorching 29.69.

Mister Twister, which went into the final with five wins from just five starts, ran a gallant race to finish second, with 's Benteke (box one) filling the trifecta back in third spot.

Ando's Mac is owned by Luke Anderson and Michaele Alderdice and has now won over $124,000 in prize money. Saturday's victory took his overall career record to 14 wins an five placings from 26 starts, while the fawn dog has now won eight of his nine appearances since joining Mackay's kennel back in September.
