In the final meeting of 2009 a strong nine race card produced quality racing in the Nation's Capital on Sunday evening.

Astute punters made the most of some good odds on offers across the meeting, this trend starting early with theirs for yours odds available for first starters Ritza Nat in the first.

The Black Enforcer x Notorious Nat black bitch made her move late only just getting to early leader Jessie Be Good, to win by half a head, four lengths back to Berridale Flash.

Berridale Queen made the most of her first start for connections in heat two of the SKY Racing Maiden's, posting a very smart 25.46 lead all the way win, 7 ¾ lengths clear of litter brother Matdan who snuck in by a nose over Elite Nurse.

The fourth and fifth events saw Yass trainer Neil Staines claim a running double with Brilliant Blonde and Road Ahead, the pair paying a collective of $14.80, a nice return for connections.
In a tough fifth grade 530 event it was Sir Pedro for and the Bluey Syndicate who made the best late move to catch early leader Miss Jagz, under ten lengths separating the full field in the 31.01 event.

's made the most of a little extra space, with the scratching of the alley to his inside in the Ranger Geale 4/5th Grade sprint.

Race eight, the Canberra Mower Services 4/5th grade 530 event saw reserve Five To Life make the most of the start, jumping from box seven the black x Cut Fine dog posted good early sections to beat home strong finishing Just Ariek and in 31.06.

The final event saw back up his good win on Wednesday with a strong 25.45 BON victory over kennelmate Sticky Boots, Julia Allen rattling home for third.

Racing continues this Sunday, with three meetings until Canberra goes into recess, including two big SKY meetings the 10th and 17th January.
