Awareness Message – Final Advice grass fire in Ivanhoe East burning on the Yarra Trail

Incident Information

The grass fire is burning in Ivanhoe East along the Yarra Trail, near the banksia Park (Melways Map reference 31 B6) has now subsided. It is estimated to have burnt 3 hectares.

Although the fire is now contained MFB crews will continue to work on the fire into this evening.

Core Advice
There may be increased amounts of smoke in the area from this fire.
Road use in the area may still be hazardous. Watch out for fallen trees, power lines, abandoned cars, wildlife and emergency services vehicles.
Residents should expect that many branches may fall from nearby trees in the next few days, and should be vigilant to protect themselves from injury.
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
