Awareness Message – for communities of Reedy Creek, Strath Creek and Flowerdale
The latest aircraft line scan showed minimal fire activity along the northern edge of the fire. However, there may be pockets of unburnt areas and due to the forecast for increasing winds fire activity may increase within the fire boundary. Where resources allow, CFA and DSE crews will monitor and respond to these incidents.
This fire is not currently posing a threat to communities however, the communities of Reedy Creek, Strath Creek and Flowerdale should remain vigilant and continue to listen to 774 ABC radio or local radio stations for updates.
CFA, DSE and army crews will continue strengthening control lines through out the day.
There may be increased amounts of smoke in the area from this fire.
Road users are advised to take extra care as road travel may be hazardous due to low visibility from smoke.
Even though this fire does not currently pose a threat, people in high risk bushfire areas are reminded to have a bushfire survival plan ready to implement during the summer period.
