Incident Information
The Wilsons Prom Cathedral fire is burning 13 kilometres south-east of Wilsons Promontory entrance gate. This is a revised estimate as the initial estimate of 19km was incorrect. The fire is burning in a south-west direction and is estimated to be 3200 hectares in size. This fire is not currently posing a threat to communities.
However, we would like to advice residents north of Wilsons Promontory they may continue to observe increased amounts of smoke through the afternoon as the fire front has become more active, burning in a south-west direction away from the national park entrance.
