Barbeque Man produced a stunning late surge to claim victory in the 2025 GreyhoundsWA Birthday Cup at Mandurah, prevailing by half a head in a dramatic finish.

Clocking an impressive 22.21 seconds, the Paul Stuart-trained sprinter showcased his class, edging out Curious Georgia by 0.06 lengths in the final moments of the race.

Breaking from box nine as the first reserve, Barbeque Man settled mid-field early as Curious Georgia and Sunset Nightjar set a cracking pace.

However, as the race unfolded, Barbeque Man displayed his trademark determination, railing strongly in the final strides to snatch the win at $9.50 odds with the leading bookmakers.

Curious Georgia, trained by Shayne Williams, ran valiantly to finish second, while Sunset Nightjar claimed third place after an excellent early run.

Aston Costello rounded out the top four in a competitive 400m feature.
