2015 Group Two Warragul Cup heat tips & betting preview

WHILE most eyes will be focused on this Saturday for the running of the Group One Paws of Thunder, there will also be plenty of action at Warragul with the heats of the Group Two .

Run over 460 metres, the Warragul Cup was first run in 1956 when won by Rocketeer. Since that time it has grown to become one of the most competitive country cups in Victoria.

Six heats will be run of the 2015 series with each winner and the two fastest seconds professing through to the final on January 23.

8BIG TICKET [3]5114125.69(1)S Clarke (Tooradin)

Luca Neveelk is all class and he should have no trouble qualifying for another country cup final. He is the reigning and Cup champ and he looks well placed in this event, he is going to cop some pressure from Big Ticket mid race but if he holds him out in the run to the first turn he should get the job done.

Big Ticket is well drawn in the pink and he recently fastest for the Thousand Final. He has won two of three here and he has a dazzling 25.69 PB, if the favourite happens to make a mistake early he should be there to capitalise.

Dyna Alchemist is better than his form reads and he should get a nice cart into the race from Luca Neveelk, I dont think he can win but he is capable of sneaking into the quinella spot.

Great race and it should be a nice match race between Fuelish and Azza Azza Azza. I'm going to give the edge to the established star Azza Azza Azza. He has scored some devastating wins in his brief career to date and he resumed from a spell with a commanding 19.42 win last time out. He is extremely reliable early and he should lead from go to whoa.

Fuelish has won five of six to date and all of those wins have been in times. Last time out he destroyed a quality lineup of chasers at Ballarat in 25.08 and a similar effort tonight would see him push Azza Azza Azza right to the limit.

Lamia Bale is all class and she has won two of three here, she is better suited to a longer trip but from the red she can run home into a place.

8HELLO GOOD BYE [4]31467FSHP Galea (Rosedale)

Wide open affair but the enormously talented Ride The Rails has the speed to lead all the way. He has won his past two starts at The Meadows over 600m and the drop back in distance is a concern, however his early sectionals in his win two runs back were off the charts so he has more than enough speed to match this lineup.

Droopy's Bentley is the real deal and if he steps cleanly he will take a power of beating. Two starts back he set the Meadows track alight with a blistering 29.75 win and if you go back through his form he does have a 25.13 win to his credit.

Dyna Nihilist is much better than his form reads and he has an impressive 25.78 PB here, he will get back early but he can charge home into the placings.

8SISCO RAGE [4]13111FSHJ Galea (Lara)

Another heat with great depth and I think the well drawn Caustic Bale can get the job done. He isn't the best of beginners but he does must speed at a rate of knots and he should be able to improve on his 25.86 win here when having his first look at the track. He has scored some ridiculously fast wins in his career and if he holds out Quick Succession he will run the hands off the clock.

Quick Succession has been airborne since resuming from a five month spell and she is showing blistering early speed. With a clean getaway tonight she should be able to find the early lead and she will make Caustic Bale work overtime for victory.

Sisco Rage is suited to a wide draw and he is back in form with three wins on the trot in town. He may find these a bit too zippy early but he should be able to swoop home into the placings.

Jewel Bale is never far away in her races and she too has the ability to run home into some minor money.

8QUARREL BALE (NSW)[5]54221FSHS Collins (Lara)

Nockabout Aussie has a massive engine and one out he could probably match it with any chaser in the land, however he doesn't like to be crowded in his races and from the red he is going to need a few things to go his way. Having said that, I still think he is good enough to score. He should get a nice sit in the early stages and once he gets into some open space he can then go into overdrive mid race.

Clash Of Kings is well placed in the two box and he is unbeaten over this trip, he can be a little hit or miss early but when he finds the bunny he tends to find a leg. With the lack of speed underneath he should get every chance to find the rail and early lead.

Quarrel Bale is suitably drawn out wide and he has a heap of talent, the only concern with him is that he can be slow to begin and he may get posted wide for most of the trip.

Xtreme Knocka rounds out the chances, he is a very fast chaser when given room early and he has the ability to ping the lids.

7MAKE THAT CALL [5]57772NBTG Bartlett (Tenby Point)
8RYLEE'S MARSHALL (QLD)[4]1352426.13(4)G Whitford (Yarram)

Last chance to qualify and we get the privilege of watching possibly the most exciting chaser in training. Over Limit has had a couple of months off but prior to going for a spell he scored two breathtaking Meadows wins in 29.66 and 29.67. From the red he should hold them out early and he will blow them away.

Ronray Spirit is racing in devastating form since joining the astute Terry Reid kennel and he is armed with explosive early speed. With an even getaway he should be able to go with Over Limit for most of the trip and he should hold on for the quinella spot.

Alex's Entity is unbeaten in two runs here and he is coming off a brilliant 29.96 Meadows win, he can miss the kick at times but if he is given room to muster speed, he should be able to make an impact.

Top Four: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2
