Dapto best bets, value picks & quaddie | Thursday, June 16
Dapto plays host to a huge 12 races this Thursday night, headlined by the GRNSW Middle Distance Series race over the 600m. ARG has you covered with best bets and value plays for the night, along with selections in all four quaddie legs.
BEST BET: Cawbourne Turvey (Race 9)
The Jodie Lord-trained Cawbourne Turvey (box 1) looks the best bet on the program tonight. This daughter of Collision looks perfectly drawn in box one. Tonight, he comes back to the more suitable middle distance, after contesting in the heats of the rich Ladbroke’s distance series at The Gardens over 715m. At her last Dapto appearance, she led all the way to beat Silver Luck by seven lengths over this middle distance from box three, clocking a fast 34.20 seconds. At her previous Dapto appearance, she finished second behind Sound Of Silence from box four, beaten 1.25 lengths in 34.40 seconds. A repeat of either of those two runs would see her winning this race. We will be taking short odds tonight but she looks the winner. The Ayden Sheridan-trained Silver Luck (box 7) looks the only danger but Cawbourne Turvey has beaten him easily before.

NEXT BEST: Sheriff’s Way (Race 4)
The Joseph Scerri-trained Sheriff’s Way (box 5) looks the next best bet on tonight’s program. This daughter of Zulu Zeus is currently in good form since coming from Tasmania. On June 2, she was just beaten when finishing second behind Candy Corvette from box one when making her Dapto debut after a five month break. Last Thursday night at Dapto, she improved from that run and beat Evie On Gas from box six, clocking 17.31 seconds. A repeat of that run would win this race. She is a quick beginner and can lead all the way tonight.

NEXT BEST AGAIN: Lightning Star (Race 8)
The Clifford Bell-trained Lightning Star (box 4) looks the best value bet on the program. This daughter of Orson Allen has not raced since May 5, when she finished fourth behind Butterfly Angel from box five. She loves the Dapto circuit, as she has won four races and placed three times from 10 starts. On paper, her dangers look to be the Mark Suttle-trained Skedaddle Jamie and the Nicholas Kilner-trained Zipping Quokka. Both of those greyhounds have good early speed but struggle to finish off well in their races over the 520m distance. Even though Lightning Star will be fresh tonight, expect her to finish off this race well and be hard to hold out late.
