Dapto greyhounds betting tips

Thursday's 12-race card at Dapto features a few standout chasers that should justify their odds-on quotes. Here's our race-by-race preview and best bets for the night.

Race 1: Sportsbet Bet With Mates Maiden (297m)

Our standard maiden event to kick the card off tonight over the short course distance. We have three debutants in this event tonight – Weringa John (box 2), Lethal Lexus (box 6) and Queen Nora (box 8). Of the raced brigade, Fat Pizza (box 3) has now had two starts over the Dapto 297m. Last Thursday he finished third behind Yamazaki Riot, after beginning well. Improving all the time, so a win can't be far away. Kenzie Bale (box 4) made her debut at Dapto in the same race as Fat Pizza from box five. She only finished fifth but may improve from her first run at Dapto. Trial By Combat (box 5) is a 100 start maiden but has placed on 33 occasions. This is not a strong field of raced maidens, so if there is a betting move for one of the debutants, it may pay to follow them in.

Race 2: Sportsbet Set A Deposit Limit Maiden (520m)

This is a stronger field of maidens over the longer distance of 520m. (box 7) made her debut at Dapto last Thursday from box seven. This daughter of Kinloch Brae was well supported in the betting. She only begun fairly but mustered soon after start to finish a good second. Expect improvement this week, so must be a winning chance. Fair Call (box 3) ran in the same maiden race as Jazzy Pack from box three. She showed good early pace to finish third, only beaten one length by Jazzy Pack – she looks the danger tonight. City Girl (box 1) wears the red rug for the first time tonight. She finished second behind Jackpot Ethics two start ago but beaten over six lengths. That was her first attempt over the Dapto 520m, so may improve from this good draw. Machine (box 5) steps up to the longer distance tonight after having two starts over 400m. He has been slow to begin in both starts but finished well to run into the placings. Drought Relief (box 8) has bombed the start in all three starts to date but does head to the rails soon after, so could be a place chance here.

Race 3: Happy 70th Ruth King 5th Grade (297m)

This looks a tricky race. Andrew Bell now trains Bobby Bull Shark (box 4). This former Victorian has not started since January 19 but has only won twice in 23 career starts. Harvest Moon (box 5) can handle middle draws, as she likes to race in the middle of the track. If she gets clear galloping room early, she may be the greyhound to beat here. Rob's Roy (box 8) also likes to run in the middle of the track so box eight tonight should suit him. Claddin' Boys (box 2) made his Dapto debut last Thursday and won, clocking a slow 17.72 seconds after beginning well. Not sure his mind was on the job late as he pulled up quickly nearing the winning post -so take him on trust only. Wishful Fantasy (box 3) wears blinkers to help her focus on the . She can run quick times when in form, but her last four starts suggest she is out of form. Johanna Jewel (box 6) is poorly drawn and does not win many races but has finished in the placings in her last two starts.

Race 4: The Dapto Blackbook 1-2 Wins 5th Grade (520m)

The outside three starters look the early speed in this race. Richard Muscat stepped Charlm Machine (box 6) up to the Dapto 520m last Thursday, winning her maiden clocking a reasonable 30.35 seconds from box two. Should improve from that run and may be the greyhound to beat tonight. Dwarf (box 8) contested in the GRNSW 5th grade heats and final. He ran well finishing second in his heat, and fourth in the final behind Burn. Must be considered as a winning chance tonight. Alpha Miss (box 7) is lightly raced but hasn't raced since February 17 when she finished last, after being checked midrace. Should be fresh tonight and she can show early pace. Ultra Impressive (box 2) lived up to her namesake when winning on debut here, clocking a good 30.10 seconds from box one – way back in May 2021. Has only started once since, when unplaced at on March 21 after stumbling at the start.

Race 5: Culture Sauce 1-2 Wins 5th Grade (520m)

Mark Gatt has Bullheaded (box 3) entered in this event. This son of Collision has not started since 1st December 2021. He is a large greyhound and is not a quick beginner but has raced well at Dapto previously. Looks the best performed greyhound in this race and a winning chance, if Mark Gatt has him back to his best. Nonna Lena (box 4) can show some early pace and has won from this same draw February 17 beating Half A Blonde. Mount Gower (box 2) may lead this field early but likes to run towards the middle of the track. Her only start over 520m at , she contested the lead early, ran wide and dropped out to finish last. May struggle to run the distance here tonight. Lucky Ethics (box 7) can also show some early speed and may be a place chance here.

Race 6: Sportsbet Same Race Multi 5th Grade (520m)

Lightning Star (box 8) has been luckless her last two starts. She won her only start from box eight at Dapto last December. Expect her to get galloping room early and be a winning chance tonight. Start Packing (box 3) has early pace and looks the main danger from her low draw. She has won twice from three starts over this track and distance and placed second in the other. Galloping Run (box 1) will strip fitter this week. He finished second behind Hibiscus Moon last Thursday after leading. That was his second run back after a three month break. Biggest Star (box 4) is poorly drawn but can handle middle draws. He is an honest old chaser and looks a good place chance if breaks go his way tonight.

Race 7: TAB Million Dollar Chase Regional Heat 1 (520m)

This is our first heat of the TAB Regional Chase. (box 1) contested a heat of the last Saturday night. He was luckless when vying for the lead from box five. Beautifully drawn tonight in box one, looks the greyhound to beat in this heat. Ritza Donna (box 6) also contested a heat of the Golden Easter Egg last Saturday night but only finished sixth from box five. He may get clear galloping room tonight with a vacant box inside and Flighty Fernando drawn in box four, who likes to step left directly after the start. Looks the main danger to Sound Of Silence. Redshift Seven (box 7) should also get a good run out wide on the track early but only looks a place chance here. Flighty Fernando (box 4) is struggling to find form lately but is too good to leave out of trifectas and first fours. Hibiscus Moon (box 2) won at Dapto last Thursday from box four. Drawn well tonight but only looks a minor place chance only.

Race 8: TAB Million Dollar Chase Regional Heat 2 (520m)

This is the second heat of the TAB Million Dollar Regional Chase but only a field of six starters. (box 4) ran fifth in a heat of the Golden Easter Egg last Saturday night from box three. He may get clear galloping room early tonight with a vacant box inside. If so, he looks the greyhound to beat in this heat. Cowgirl Ethics (box 2) is currently in good form. She is well drawn here and can show good early speed. Looks a winning chance here. (box 5) is also in good form. He ran a good fourth behind the flying She's A Pearl in a heat of the Golden Easter Egg last Saturday night so must be included in the winning chances. Asiram (box 1) has not started since January 14. Ruth King should have him fit and ready for tonight's heat. He should appreciate wearing the red rug tonight. Must be included into trifectas and first fours.

Race 9: Dapto Citizens Bowling Club 5th Grade (297m)

This is not a strong field of 5th graders tonight over the short course. Fake (box 8) won her only race from box eight at December 12. Since then, she has been placed numerous times and is currently in fair form. This might be her race to win tonight. Get The Edge (box 7) pinged the lids here last Thursday from box six but could only manage third placing. She looked a bit off balanced or sore going around the only turn here at Dapto, or might have been slipping in the wet conditions. Miss Voltage (number 9 into box 2) should get a run tonight from box two after the scratching of hard Tea. She should appreciate this low draw tonight and has shown early speed in her four career starts. Woodstock Wonder (box 1) was checked last start when wearing the red rug at Wagga March 18. Has won and placed second from his other starts from box one. Having his first look at Dapto tonight but must be included in the mix tonight.

Race 10: Ryan's Cleaning Service Free For All (297m)

The Andrew Bell trained Sizzle Fly (box 8) is back in winning form and looks the greyhound to beat tonight. She has pinged the lids her last two start and ran very quick times winning. A repeat of those runs will see her winning again tonight. General Cortez (box 2) can hold an early position from his low draw tonight and looks a danger. Barcia's Wish (box 1) has not draw the red rug for a while. He should appreciate this draw and might give Andrew Bell the trifecta placings tonight. Jagora Bale (box 3) is currently in good form and can show good early pace so must be included into trifectas and first fours. She might spoil the Andrew Bell party! Nixon Bale (box 7) is not well drawn tonight but is too good to disregard or leave out.

Race 11: Commercial Painting Group 4th/5th Grade (297m)

Snap Key (box 2) is currently in good form lately and looks the greyhound to beat here. He won from this box February 17, clocking a good time of 17.11 seconds. She has good early speed and should lead all the way tonight. Tommy Typhoon (box 8) showed early pace from the same box draw last Thursday and ran a respectable fourth behind General Cortez. Knockabout Sue (box 6) resumed down the Richmond grass straight track March 26 from box six, after falling at Bulli February 1. She showed good early speed, only to be run down late. On the quick back up tonight but must be considered. Kalany Bale (box 4) is poorly drawn tonight but is an honest chaser who can fill a minor placing tonight.

Race 12: Watch Live On Sportsbet 5th Grade (297m)

Sonata (box 7) was luckless from box eight last Thursday. If she jumps well, look for her to steam down the outside early, contest the lead and run quick time. Another Coldie (box 2) is back in good form after winning his last two starts at Wagga over 320m. From this low draw, he must be considered a winning chance. Good Odds Zac (box 1) will appreciate wearing the red rug and is another winning chance in this race. Barry's Rocket (box 8) won here last Thursday on a wet surface from box seven clocking 17.46 seconds after an average start. He has now won both of his two starts over the Dapto 297m so must be in the winning mix.
