Very tough race to kick off the night, but Awesome To Excel appears to be an improving type and he should have the speed to cross and lead all the way. Last week he stepped well and showed a good turn of foot when posting an impressive 30.38 heat victory. If he can repeat that performance he should give himself every chance to score.

Quaker Bale posted a commanding 30.41 heat win last week and he should make an impact again. The box draw is against him tonight, but he does possess a good turn of foot and if he can hold the six out early he will take some stopping. Fabio To Excel has the good draw and he should be able to settle in a prominent spot early. He hit the line quite well last week so if he is close enough mid-race he may run over the top of them late. Gin Bale was the fastest heat winner and he must be respected, the only concern with him is that he will get back early and he will need a lot of luck in running.

Not a strong race at all and if Ninety Five can settle in the top three early she should go very close to winning. She has been placed in two of three over this trip previously and she has been racing in much stronger company of late. The first 50 metres is crucial, but if she gets through unscathed she should be fighting out the finish.

Jokowi looks suited in this class and he recorded a handy placing at two runs back over a similar distance. He has the speed to settle in the first half of the field and he runs out the journey strong enough. Blasting Bear is a consistent chaser and he is well-placed in the pink draw. He will get back early on, but if they bunch up near the lead he should swoop over the top late. Honeycomb Smooth looks the leader in the event and she should give a nice sight, she doesn't win very often but she should be able to hang on for a place.

10TOP LOAD (NSW)[7]Res.53414FSHJ Absalom (Lang Lang)

Iyliss Bale is normally a very reliable beginner and she should be in the mix for a long way tonight. She has very little speed drawn around her, so if she can get away on terms she should be able to push through and assume control at the first bend. She has won here previously in 30.32 and a repeat of that effort would see her get the cash.

Spring Gambo was narrowly beaten here on Wednesday and he is a highly promising speedster. He can be a little hit or miss at box rise but he does possess a wonderful turn of foot once he hits the ground. Jailor Bale is the only other winning hope, he has been placed in four of five here with one of those efforts being a win, he has raced well from wide draws to date and he should be in the mix for most of the journey. Flying Opal could be the value in the race, she showed plenty of improvement when scoring at last time in 31.15 and she looks well placed in the wide draw tonight. She should be double figure odds and she could be worth an each way ticket.

8KILTAH MAGIC (QLD)[5]3817134.72(2)K Bravo (Lovely Banks)

Kiltah Magic is dropping considerably in class and she looks well-placed in the pink draw tonight. Last time out she pinged the lids and won by over 10 lengths at Ballarat and she posted a super impressive 30.62. She should have the speed to get across again tonight and if she finds the top she should be scoring with ease.

Humming Birdhill could be the value. She has the speed to settle in the top two early and she should hit the line solid enough. Her most recent form isn't flashy but she hasn't experienced a lot of luck in those runs so I'm expecting an improved effort. Dyna Orion is the run on type and he returns to the track after six weeks off. He will probably settle a little closer to the speed than normal and he is a must for the exotics as he should pick off a few stragglers late in the piece. Billy Higgs has the good draw and he can settle near the speed, he can be very hard to follow at times but if he holds them out he will take some catching.

Very open race and I think we can find some value with the well-drawn Maximum Chez. She is armed with early speed and she has two keen railers drawn directly underneath, so with a clean getaway she should be able to carve across and assume control at the first bend. It is also worth noting that her most recent win was from this draw at Ballarat in a slick 25.26 and she beat a good line-up on that occasion.

Sacramento Sal returned to form with a brilliant 25.82 win last time and she should be in the mix for most of the trip, she is a very reliable beginner and she has broken the 30 second barrier here previously. Lakerville will start favourite and if he gets a clear run he will be winning, however he does find a lot of trouble in his races and at the short odds it may be worthwhile risking him tonight. Peloton Bale rounds out the chances, he has a terrific record over this trip and he will be very strong in the run to the line, if he can settle mid pack he should be able to get into contention as they round for home.

8OSCAR DE LARGO [5]5214842.92(4)R Henness (Heathcote)

Love Affair is dropping considerably in class tonight and from her favourable wide draw she should be winning. Two starts back she stormed home from last to score in a handy 42.96 and if she can avoid trouble in the early stages she will get every chance to score. She won't be flashy odds but she could be a good anchor in the Quaddie.

Nicki Fields is another who appears to be well graded and if she can step cleanly she should give them something to catch. She has been taking on some top line stayers of late and if she can find the early she should be able to regain some confidence. Hala Belle returned to form with a strong 34.67 Sandown Park win last week and she should run a cheeky race again. She has the speed to lead and if they happen to bunch up behind her she may steal the prize. Cosmea and Dewana Babe round out the place hopes, both will be near the speed for most of the trip but the last 50 metres is the query for both runners.

Headline is a very fast chaser on her night and if she pounces on the early lead she should be winning. Two starts back she led from go to whoa here in 34.62 and on that occasion she beat superstar talent Angie Rocks. The middle pin doesn't help but she does possess good speed and she should give herself every chance to score.

Prancing Magic is a highly talented middle distance chaser and he really caught the eye when posting a sizzling 34.18 when winning at Sandown Park last time, if he can settle in the top two again he should be right in the finish. Young Henry is one of the most talented chasers in the event and if he can avoid being posted wide he should make a big impact, if he goes around at big odds he could be worth a saver bet. Mi Diablo and High Class have solid claims, both need to lead to win so it could be worthwhile just including them in your exotic bets.

Dyna Yemen has finally had a bit of a spell and after a month off I think he should be ready to show his best. When he first burst onto the scene he scored some devastating wins and he appeared to be a star in the making. Since then he has gone off the boil, tonight I'm expecting him to begin a lot better because he is fresh and I'm expecting a forward showing.

Berzerk just continues to win to race impressively and he is aiming for a hat trick of wins. His box manners aren't great but he does muster speed at a rate of knots and if he is given room in the initial stages he will take some stopping. Dyna Quirk can be hard to follow at times but he does have a big engine and he must be included in your quaddies, he has been bombing the start of late but he does have the ability to ping the lids. Hashtag Selfie has the good draw and she should be in the mix for a long way, I think the class will test her tonight but she can hold on for a place.

10YOKO [5]Res.7657730.31(1)J Carr (Devon Meadows)

Usain I'm Nutty is dropping considerably in class tonight and if the inside division can do everything right and hold the lead, he should be able to drop onto the rail behind them and he should then be far too strong for his rivals. He should be around the $2.50 mark and for a chaser of his calibre I think that is great value.

Missile Flash was solidly placed here last week and I'm expecting her to lead for a long way. She isn't racing at her best at present but she loves racing here and outside of the favourite this race isn't overly strong. Allen Gravion is never far away in this type of company and he returned to form with a top 26.03 win last time out, he will need some luck to get across from out wide but he does have the speed to accomplish that. Bruce Tycoon is the only other legitimate winning chance, I would prefer him at Sandown Park but he is racing too well to dismiss.

Ella's Cruising showed a tremendous amount of improvement when scoring here last week in 30.10 and if she can reproduce that type of effort she will prove extremely hard to reel in. She beat a pretty handy chaser last time out, so I don't think it was a fluke. I'm expecting her to start fairly short so it may be best to just anchor her up front in your exotic bets.

Spokesman is an exciting talent and he showed a sizzling turn of foot when winning at Geelong last time in 25.82, this is his first try over this distance range but the manner in which he hit the line at Geelong suggests he will cover the ground. Kenju Bale has a solid record here and she shouldn't be too far away at the end, there isn't a lot of speed drawn around her so she should be able to settle in a prominent spot.

Shanlyn Violet is a and she has scored three breathtaking wins on the trot. Two starts back she was super impressive when posting 25.77 and her sectionals in that event were off the charts. The middle pin is a slight disadvantage but if she steps cleanly she should have no trouble burning them off.

Jenkins Bale is always a chance in these types of races and he should be hitting the line strongly. I would prefer him from a wider draw but if he can balance up in the top four he could add some value to your exotic bets. Be Two Bomber has recorded two top provincial placings in recent weeks and he should settle on the back of the favourite, I don't think he can reel her in but he should be able to hold on for a place.

Noosa Jet has scored some flying wins on the country circuit in recent weeks and if he can handle the first turn he should take a power of beating. There is plenty of speed in boxes six and seven, so if he can step away cleanly he should get a nice cart across early and that will allow him to dash away mid race.

Master Tron is an extremely talented chaser and if given a clear run he would probably blow them away, however I'm a little concerned about the speed on his outside so he will need a few things to go his way. Jordy Shiack scored a strong 30.62 win here last week and he should be in the mix again, he was slow to begin last week, I'm expecting him to step a lot better tonight and with a clear run he can probably get down to the 30.10 mark.
