READERS of Brad’s column would have been grinning from ear to ear yesterday with a $20 investment in his best multi bet resulting in a nice return of $134.80.
We are confident of another lucrative result again today, with three legs which look the goods to us.
All odds below are approximates.
Leg 1 – Gawler – Race 8: Gelignite Jack To Place $2.75
Gelignite Jack doesn’t win very often but he has been placed in 11 of his 19 starts to date and four of six over this journey. In recent weeks he has turned in some strong efforts behind some quality opposition and with an ounce of luck in running he should be able to charge home into some minor money. There are a couple of talent chasers in this event but I’m expecting there to be a fair bit of shuffling up front and that should play into Gelignite Jack’s favour.
Brazen Bull is taking on some quality chasers and he is probably better suited to a shorter trip, however he has come up with the good draw and I think he can run a huge race at odds. He is armed with a dazzling turn of speed and with the speed in six and seven, he should get a nice cart across and I am expecting him to find the lead through the first corner. He will likely get reeled in but he should hang on for a place.
Leg 3 – Gosford – Race 7: Funny Bone To Place $1.67 (Top Two Finish Required)
Funny Bone’s recent form isn’t too flashy but she is clearly better than that and she has won here previously in a very fast 34.81. She has an empty draw on her outside, so that should allow her to hold the early lead as they head through the first bend. She doesn’t have to lead to win her races but she is better on the lure and if she does step from the inside I can’t see her missing a top two finish.
