Aston Philou is a promising speedster and he is armed with dazzling early speed. Two starts back he roared through the first two markers when placed at Traralgon in good time and a repeat performance will see him figure prominently again tonight. There are a couple of talented ones drawn nearer the inside but they aren't brilliant beginners and there is every chance they will get shuffled back in the initial stages, so if he can do everything right at box rise he should give himself every chance to finish in the top three. The $6 for the win is a very good price but I think the place option is much safer.
Leg 2 – Sale – Race 10: Price Tag To Win $2.60
Price Tag is blessed with loads of ability and from the favourable draw he should take a power of beating. He is normally good to begin and he musters pace at a great rate, so with the lack of speed drawn directly underneath he should have no trouble in crossing and finding the early lead. He has scored some slick 410m Horsham wins of late and if he can repeat those efforts he appears to be a safe bet and the $2.60 quote with Bet365 appears quite attractive.
Leg 3 – Healesville – Race 5: Shared Bonus To Place $2.38
Shared Bonus is a speedy beginner and after two smart placings here in recent weeks he should be ready to fire again. He is normally very reliable at box rise and he will hit gear as soon as he gets into stride. The middle draw is a bit of a disadvantage today but he has a slow beginner on his outside, so he should get every chance to drive through and settle in the top two early. I don't think he can beat the red but he should go with him for most of the journey and a top three finish looks likely.
