Leg 1 – Gawler – Race 4: Top Gun Mcbain To Place $1.67
Top Gun Mcbain has come up with the good draw and with a clean getaway he should be in the mix for most of the journey. He has been placed in his past three starts and last time out he led for most of the journey before being narrowly beaten in very fast time. This race isn't overly strong, so if he does happen to hold the early lead, he will definitely prove hard to reel in. He is good value at $4 for the win but for multi purposes I think the place option is much safer.
Leg 2 – Sandown Park – Race 4: Prince Django To Place $1.67
Prince Django has a massive engine and with an ounce of luck he should be right there at the business end. His form doesn't look great but he hasn't had a lot of luck in running in recent weeks and he should appreciate the rise in distance, there is very little speed drawn on his outside so he should get plenty of room to push through in the initial stages. He is a great price at $5.50 to win so it might be worthwhile having something on for the win separately.
Leg 3 – Sandown Park – Race 7: Why Not Les To Place $1.83
Why Not Les is another who doesn't have great form at present but he is clearly better than that and today he drops significantly in class. He finds himself in a race which doesn't have a lot of early speed, so if he can come out on terms he should be able to drive across and assume control at the first bend and he should take some catching on the lure.
