Leg 1 – Cranbourne – Race 6: Blue Poison to place $2.25
Blue Poison can be a little hard to follow at times but there is no doubting that he has a heap of talent and he actually looks well placed in this event. There is very little speed drawn around him, so with an even getaway he should be able to push through and hold a top three spot as they exit the first bend. He is quite strong in the run home, so with some luck in the initial stages he should be in the mix for the entire journey and a top three finish is on the cards.
Leg 2 – Cranbourne – Race 7: Cable Runner to place $2.10
Cable Runner is a lot better than his form reads and he should appreciate the drop in class tonight. He has been taking on some strong races in recent weeks and he has been finding a lot of trouble soon after box rise. This race doesn't have a whole lot of early speed, so if he is given a little room in the first 50m he should be able to muster through and just about take up the lead. He is a different chaser when near the lure and he could be worth a straight out bet on the side.
Leg 3 – Cranbourne – Race 11: Map It Out to place $1.91
Map It Out is normally a very good beginner and she has won here previously in solid time. Tonight she has average beginners drawn on either side, so with an even getaway she should have enough dash to assume control as they head into the first bend and if that's the case she should finish in the top three and probably win the race. This is a pretty average race so she appears to be good value at the $6.50 quote for the win.
