Wentworth Park Friday betting tips & quaddie | February 9, 2024
At Wentworth Park this Friday night there will be 11 races decided, with the first kicking off at 7:08pm local time. There will be something for everyone, including three top-quality sprints over the 280m. As always, Australian Racing Greyhound will try to find you a winner or two.
Race 2: Hurricane Reign (8)
This girl has yet to win at Wenty, but she does own two second placings and they were in the heats and the final of the Group 1 Futurity. She will relish dropping back into this 1-2 wins restricted grade. She does her best chasing drawn off the track slightly, so box eight won't be a disadvantage at all. She has only missed a place once in her career and that was last start here. She has a quick personal best of 29.78 in town, and if she can run anywhere near that, Hurricane Reign will blow this field away.

Race 7: Colonial Custard (4)
There is an air of anticipation about the Wentworth Park debut of Colonial Custard, who comes to town with an imposing record of 12 wins and four placings from 19 starts. All of those starts have been on the Richmond straight track or at Maitland, which makes one wonder if he will handle the tight two-turned Glebe circuit. He's had one start from box four for a win and usually shows good early pace and puts fields away early. If he handles Wenty, there is no reason he won't keep on his winning ways and make it five in a row.

Race 10: Pick Up Gus (8)
Pick Up Gus draws the outside box in an open sprint race, which could mean the online bookmakers give us a good price. He is one from six with three placings from box eight and is two from three here. He is drawn to get the perfect fly around the field if the seven and five dogs both head to the fence like they usually do. As always, the key to these 280m races is the start, and if Gus can nail that and run near his personal best, he can bring up win number three in town at a respectable price.
