Wentworth Park tips

Wentworth Park is where it is at this Wednesday night for a somewhat depleted nine-race card as some dogs finally get a bit of a break after a massive Chase campaign. Here, we have some nice races on the programme and, as always, we will endeavour to find you a few special greyhounds and some value along the way.

BEST BET: Coast Model (Race 5)

This girl has had her paws in everything in the last year and has just kept performing at the highest level. She saluted for us last week and there is no reason to get off her as her win was of the highest order as she had to come from behind which is not something she does very often. Some might say she has been a “Coast” Model of consistency for having won sixteen from forty-one here at Wenty Park and sixteen from forty one overall and amassed over $220,000 in prizemoney. She qualified for her second semi-final in the same calendar year earlier this month but just couldn't quite match the early motors with the big guns and was gallant in defeat. She has a 29.58sec personal best here and while she might not be going quite as good now as when she set that mark, if she leads, she can certainly get close to that mark, win this race and maybe even Coast in and you can Model anything you get from your winnings.

Danger: Zipping Sapporo is a 1 winner, and while those days are behind her, she can still produce on her night and is capable of going very quickly.

NEXT BEST BET: Showman Jack (Race 6)

This son of Fernando Bale and Lovelace is trained by astute mentor John Smart. He was taking on the best of the youngsters in the Young Stars classic here on Saturday night and when he bombed the start made things extremely tricky for himself and all in all it was a pretty good effort to run past four top class dogs and finish fourth. There is no or Bandit Jane to worry about in this race and from a classic final drops back into a very winnable six dog, fourth and fifth grade race. He has the speed and the ability to bounce back quickly and lead this race and run the hands off the clock and that is why for Jack tonight…It's Showtime!!!

Danger: was a very gallant fourth in the semi-final of the Million Dollar Chase behind French Martini, and he did take care of Zara's Ivan in the city qualifiers. He has a very good PB around here and, if he nails the start, could be the trouble for Jack.

BET VALUE BET: Not A Shame (Race 2)

Dylan Goodger brings a couple of his very slick Aston Dee Bee x It's a Shame pups to Wenty tonight and they are both very good winning chances. They have both been performing very well on the provincials which will aid them in their city debuts but Not A Shame who has performed very well in two 500m hit outs at Richmond recently getting run down by the classy Tania Keeping in her most recent is probably the pick. She should be rock hard fit and ready for her Wentworth Park debut and the awkward box six is sweetened a fraction by box five being vacant. She has enough early pace to be very prominent in the run to the first turn and with a couple of moderate beginners drawn outside her she may well make perfect use of the box to a good winning margin early and it certainly will Not be A Shame to queue up to get paid when this girl salutes at juicy odds.
