Wentworth Park racing tips

This Saturday night at we will see the heats of the age-restricted 1 Peter Mosman Opal for the girls and Group 1 Vic Peters Classic for the boys. These heats highlight an 11-race card where so many top-quality canine athletes strut their stuff on the grandest stage in greyhound racing. As always, we will try to find you a few winners.

Peter Mosman Opal Heats

HEAT 1: 's boom youngster Miss McGraw gets a very nice draw in what looks the weakest of the heats. She will get room early and was blistering in her last Dubbo win. She was set for the big maiden here at Easter time, so you know she is top class, while she's seen the track and is ready for this.

HEAT 2: Dennis Barnes' looks to be a top-class bitch in the making. She has had four wins and a second in her five starts and has been supersonic early. Jack Smith will have Bella Uno and David Smith will have the flying Sublime Ethics to apply the pressure to Lucy, but they will need to do everything right.

HEAT 3: Tanya Nieuwendyk's exciting prospect Elsesser comes to town after slashing best-of-day wins at Gunnedah and Richmond. Box eight will be perfect and she should get the run of the race. Dismiss Zipping Foxy at your own peril, especially off the red, and Nangar Luna is another from a good litter but may just be a little behind the other two.

Vic Peters Classic Heats

HEAT 1: Zipping Remus is the dog to beat. He is yet to miss a place here at Wenty and should get plenty of room in the middle off the track. Hara's Cookie is an interesting runner from Queensland who already has a race to his credit, and box one will help. Outlaw McGraw is a hope but will need to lift, while My Bandit has ability but might struggle from box five.

HEAT 2: for the Barnes kennel won a nice heat and final at Grafton during the Thunderbolt series. Starline Express was also impressive at that carnival and was runner-up in the National Derby final here back in January behind Victa Damian. Al's Entity for Michelle Sultana trialled 29.5 here last week and off box one is a definite threat.

HEAT 3: Andy Lord's could do anything if he could get out of the boxes. Maybe this will be his night to ping the lids. Jack Smith has , who has been a touch disappointing recently but is well up to this. is a different greyhound when drawn down on the fence and will be one to watch if there is trouble in the middle.

Best Bet at Wentworth Park: Screaming Jet

This boy is looking to make it seven on the bounce in this free-for-all event. In his last three runs he's run 29.62, 29.63 and 29.64. He is a model of consistency and gets a vacant box underneath him to give him all the room he needs to wind up and put this field to bed. He has beaten Simply Limelight and other very good dogs recently, and from the good draw he should make it lucky number seven in this race.

Best Bet

Next Best at Wentworth Park: Tarawi Rocky

This boy is a bit of a forgotten dog for the Dave Smith camp. He has the fastest personal best of any dog in this race (29.7) and should get a nice run from box two. He can begin, and if he does and the red dwells, then he will be well placed to win this race hunting along the fence the whole way.
