Black Enforcer Servce Added To Laurel’s Prize

The $72,500 2009 1 Hawkins Laurels will carry the additional incentive of a free service to leading sire on offer to the winner.

Black Enforcer won 26 of his 35 career starts including the 2005 Sky Channel , and stands for $1650 with leading studmaster Tony Apap at his ‘A-Team' stud in Queensland.

The Group 1 Hawkins Media Laurels is Australia's richest race for age-restricted bitches, offering $50,000 to the winner. First run in 1964, the Laurels boasts some of Australia's greatest race bitches on its Honour Roll, including Sandi's Me Mum, and Paua To Burn.

is again offering a $10,000 to any bitch that completes Group 1 Laurels – Group 1 Crown Classic double in the same calendar year, last won by Paua To Burn in 2004.

The Laurels is open to bitches whelped on or after 1 March 2007. The heats will be run on Thursday 11 June, with the Semi Finals on Thursday 18 June before the Final on Thursday 25 June.
