Bookmaker Expects Double Twist To Power Home To Paws Victory
Track specialist Double Twist is poised to make it 10 wins at Wentworth Park in Saturday night's Paws Of Thunder Final.
In an open betting race, online bookmaker Sportsbet Australia has Double Twist ($3.20) at the head of the market for the $100,000 feature. Another heat winner Buckle Up Wes ($4.20) is next, with six of the eight runners under double figures.
“Double Twist was impressive in her heat win, coming from just off the speed. From the three box she should be able to track the leaders and finish off strongly again. But it is one of the most open finals we've seen and luck could play a part in the result,” sportsbet.com.au's Ben Hawes said.
In the heats, seven of the eight finalists broke 30 seconds for the 520m. Veyron Bale ($5.50) was the quickest in 29.50 with Double Twist clocking 29.56.
