Danny Preh secures his first winning treble as a greyhound trainer

Queensland greyhound trainer Danny Preh was over the moon after recording his first winning treble at Townsville on Tuesday night.

With a trademark treat of soft serve cones coming for his kennel performers, Preh spoke with Australian Racing Greyhound following the rare feat.

“Can you believe Maccas stop serving soft serves after 11pm, so I had to make it up to them today,” he joked.

“It was so surreal it's hard enough to get just one winner.

“I still can't believe it!”

Jumping from box two, he got out quickly to the lead to dictate terms before the +250 race favourite Canya Revamp took over at the front, heading into the straight.

Spitfire Rhodes dug deep to storm over the top, beating home Canya Revamp by a half-length in 29.02, with Waikiki Surfer finishing in third.

The x Yo Yo Lass dog has lined up 48 times for ten wins and 18 minor placings and has banked $31,215 for .

was next to salute, having started as the +160 race favourite in the 380m mixed grade contest and served up the come-from-behind run to win.

Jumping from the pink box, she got out to sit fourth out deep with Aurora Damiro striking the front early.

But Plum Tuckered worked hard out wide to move up to sit second, turning the bend.

As the field headed into the straight, she carved inside the leader to sweep past and win by 4.5 lengths in front of Aurora Damiro in 21.58, with Bilinga Beach back in third.

After joining the Preh kennel in June, Plum Tuckered has saluted three times with five placings from 11 starts.

‘Wendy', as she is affectionately known, lined up in a heat of the in her first start for the kennel on August 18, taking it out before finishing sixth in an eight-dog field in the $75,000-to-the-winner final.

Owned by -based and Andrew Woodford, trainer Preh was happy that the latter was able to see their dog take her tenth victory.

“To have Andrew Woodford there to see his two girls win was absolutely awesome; he even caught his first winner in Spitfire Rhodes,” Preh said.

The ownership also owns , who was the third winner for the kennel, coming away with a dead-heat victory.

The x Rascal Flash bitch started a +800 chance for the 380m fifth grade contest, with New To Me the +270 race favourite.

Jumping from box seven, she jumped to sit in the lead heading towards the corner with Burn Rate in second.

New To Me booted up to second before gaining ground and crossed the line locked together with Trixie Rigatoni.

They were unable to be split, resulting in the dead heat in 22.05, with Night Buttons next to cross 2.0 lengths behind them.

It had been a long time between salutes for Trixie Rigatoni, with her last win back on March 3, beating home Juliette Keats over the 380m trip at Townsville.

The Preh treble could have been a quartet, with All Up lining up in the last race of the meeting and finishing third.

The six-dog kennel sits on 16 wins for the year from 106 starters and is on track to surpass their best winning result of 23 recorded last year.
