Details On QLD’s Feature Prize money Increases Released
Greyhound racing in Queensland couldn’t get any better. On top of recent prize money boosts to weekly racing and the development starting on the new Logan track, details were released today outlining new increases to feature racing prize money across the state.
The most significant boosts are for the Winter Cup, Gold Cup and Brisbane Cup which will all receive an increase of $22,000. This means that as of January 1 2015, the Sunshine State’s flagship Group Ones will carry a prize money purse of $130,000 each. The Listed Flying Amy Classic will also receive further stakes money.
The state’s other main events also faired well with the Ipswich Cup raised $12,500 to carry a total prize money amount of $50,000, the Townsville Cup is up $2,500 to $40,000, while the Rockhampton Cup has been given a whopping $10,000 to bring its purse to $25,000.
In addition, every feature race in the state carrying stakes of less than $2000 will receive at least a $500 increase, while those greater than $2000 will receive no less than an extra $1000, ensuring you don’t have to be a Group racing superstar to benefit from the new boosts.
