Despite admitting to getting the former New Zealand-trained greyhound beaten the only two times he handled him, Dunsandel kennel foreman Dylan Voyce says “ is the quickest greyhound he's seen”.

Voyce is now the esteemed overseer of the Dunsandel kennels, formerly under the tutelage of the late, esteemed Greyhound Racing New Zealand (GRNZ) Hall of Fame trainer .

He describes this role as a humbling experience, working within the property of a legend and reflecting daily on the impact Ray had on the industry over many years.

He also speaks highly of Jose and , the respected owners of the property.

Dunsandel greyhound trainer Tony Hart himself attests to Voyce's capability and impressive work ethic, deeming him the ideal person to manage the Dunsandel team.

“Dylan is the perfect man to look after the Dunsandel team.

“We have every confidence in his ability and his work ethic is fantastic,” said Hart.

Since his early years as a 14-year-old, Dylan Voyce has consistently taken hold of greyhound collars and leads, proving himself to be a leading figure within the New Zealand greyhound racing community.

At the age of 28, Voyce has become a central component of the Tony Hart training regime, which also features his mother, Kirsty Taylor.

Voyce describes Tony as akin to a stepfather, having first delved into the world of greyhound racing when Tony rekindled his own involvement in Rakaia.

As the proud recipient of the March GRNZ Board Award, which lauds emerging young talent within the sport, Voyce's contributions are widely acknowledged.

He has also handled the outstanding greyhound Postman Pat, although, as he chuckles, “He got beaten both times I handled him!”

“Postman Pat is the fastest greyhound I've seen, while (another ex-Kiwi greyhound now racing with Anthony in Victoria, Australia) is also an outstanding greyhound.” said Voyce.

Voyce, alongside Tony Hart and Cameron Thomassen, will cross the Tasman Sea to watch the former Tony Hart-trained import Postman Pat race at on June 8.

Since joining the Jason Thompson kennels, Postman Pat has demonstrated his impressive form, exceeding expectations with his victories at and Shepparton, nearly breaking the track record at both tracks.

Hart has confirmed that contrary to reports in other Australian greyhound , Jason Thompson's plans are to enter Postman Pat into the 2023 Group 1 Brisbane Cup heats set to take place on June 29, after making his Australian two-turn and metropolitan greyhound racing debut at Sandown over 515m.

“Jason is that rapt with Postman Pat, that he will now send him to contest the heats.” said Hart.

Meanwhile, Voyce intends to make the most of his GRNZ Board Award prize of $500, by using it to extend his trip to Victoria.

He intends to spend as much time as possible learning from elite trainers Jason Thompson and Anthony Azzopardi.

“Jason Thompson and Anthony Azzopardi are elite trainers over there. There are so many options available there and I would like to learn as much as I can from them while I have the opportunity.” said Voyce.
