Dyna Lachlan Finds Group 1 Glory At Angle Park

Ultra consistent greyhound Dyna Lachlan has broken through for a well-deserved victory at One level by taking out the 2010 . Starting at tempting odds of $5.80 on Unitab, the son of and Benden Flex was able to lead nicely heading out of the first turn and gave nothing else a chance.

The final always looked to be a mad dash to the first post on paper, with the Queensland duo High Earner & , Victorian runner Prankster as well as speedy local Springvale Dash all likely to be looking for the lead.

But it was Dyna Lachlan who bounded out, and was able to keep Mr Metz off the rails in the early stages. From there the race looked somewhat a formality, as the margin only started to increase heading for home. Past the post the there was still 5.75L to spare with the clock stopping at an impressive 29.48sec.

The outsider of the race, Strictly Mambo ($32.30) rattled home to grab second, narrowly in front of Mr Metz ($5.10). Race favourite, High Earner ($2.30) missed the start and wasn't able to rail up with such a fast pace being set out in front.

The writing has been on the wall a long time for the -trained sprinter since he finished runner-up in the Championship behind Dashing Corsair. This was followed by strong second in the Melbourne Cup final before going to win Cup.

He was a little costly for punters during the Silver Chief series but has more than atoned with his performances in South Australia, having taken the Interstate Challenge two weeks ago, before starting his Adelaide Cup campaign.

As exciting as the Adelaide Cup race was, it also saw the trained ($6.50) break down in the running and pull up sharply in the back straight. There will hopefully be more news to come in about the extent of the injury and the future for the fast-finishing star.
