Fine Thought Has Sancho’s Measure
The last two Appin meetings saw Sancho, the winner of 31 races there defeated by Mark Wilcox‘s Fine Thought – on August 2 Sancho went out at 1/2 favourite over his favourite 274m journey but Fine Thought, then the winner of only 7 races prevailed by over 4 lenghts in a slick 15.82.
Last week the two dogs contested a similar Best 8 event as equal favourites at 6/4 with Fine Thought again the victor by two and three quarter lengths, with the time even better at 15.70.
Fine Thought now has an excellent record at Appin of 5 wins and 2 places from 9 starts and a career record of 9 wins and 6 placings from 23.
For the record Sancho’s stats are 31 wins and 30 placings from 64 Appin starts and a career record of 32 wins and 30 placings from 66. That’s impressive!
Sancho is aiming up at the GBOTA Members’ Greyhound of The Year Competition.
While it is not always easy for the Mattic’s to get a start with their top grader every week, Sancho will be very competitive in the competition, given an even chance if future nominations are forthcoming to support a top grade race at Appin on a regular basis.
