Greyhound Racing SA Appoint New Board Director

With a strong background in finance and financial management Greyhound Racing SA Limited () has Mr Ben Miels as its new Board Director.

Ben began his career with chartered accounting firm Edwards Marshall in 1990, was appointed as a Senior Manager in 1998 and a Partner in 2002.

He is currently Managing Partner of the firm with responsibility for, amongst other things, the strategic direction and financial management of the practice.

GRSA chairman Ms Roseanne Healy says Ben will complement the skills of current GRSA Board members providing strategic financial input to the Board as well as strong Board credentials.

“He has a wide range of experience in sectors including mining, health, professional services, manufacturing, recreation and entertainment and will bring a breadth of knowledge to the Board,'' she says.

Ben has a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) and completed his Professional Year with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia in 1994 and he is currently a Fellow of that Institute. He has also completed a Bachelor of Laws and graduates later this year.

A Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, he is a facilitator of the financial modules of its Company Directors Diploma.

Ben has held many senior positions with the Institute of Chartered Accountants including a term as Chairman for SA/NT and is a Fellow of the Governor's Leadership Program.

Among the external Board seats he holds are positions with Spencer Resources Limited, the SA Motorsport Advisory Committee and the Country Carnival Cricket Association.
