Group Three Birthday Cup Preview

On Friday night at 8.02pm Perth time Mandurah greyhounds will hold the Group 3 Mandurah Mail Birthday Cup over the 405 metre distance.

Linda Britton has three chasers and a reserve prepared for the final. Her best chance lies with Te Amo, who will jump from the pink box. If Britton is able to get a start with her second reserve Rapido Kid, litter brother to Te Amo, he will also give the rest of the field a run for their money.

Both David Hobby and Bill Skipper have two contenders in the final. Skipper has the fastest qualifier for the final with Special Pup who will be wearing the yellow rug. David Hobby’s Luba Monelli holds favouritism heading into the final despite jumping from box four.

Burzynski cannot be forgotten. His early speed from any box can land him lengths in front of the field; he also has the strength to prevent dogs from running him down.

The eight dogs vying for the $37,000 prize will need to be at their very best in this speedy field.
