Hobart Buddies Provide Devonport Greyhounds Upset

West Moonah trainer Kevin McConnon provided a major upset at the Devonport Raceway on Tuesday afternoon when smart bitch Pretty Pearl ( Where's Pedro – Pretty Larkhill) resumed from a spell to take out the Simon's Design Centre Grade 4 (452 metres) event.

McConnon prepares the bitch for his great mate Des Graham and wife Mary and despite the odds, was quietly confident of success.

Pretty Pearl has now won 8 of 44 Tasmanian outings and stakes of in excess of $15,900 and has proven to be a worthwhile investment for .

Her victory proved to be a wonderful tonic for former champion footballer Des Graham, who unfortunately could not make the long trip due to illness.

Meanwhile smart chaser Stylish Claud (Knocka Norris – Cleburne Lass) continued on his winning way at the meeting by taking out the Tasfreight Grade 4 (452 metres) in brilliant fashion.

Stylish Claud has now won seven of 35 lifetime outings and stakes of in excess of $12,900 and is racing in career best form.
