Kelsey Kate’s Rich Casino Blue Paws Final

Good early pace saw Kelsey Kate take out the rich Final at Casino last . The field began as one, but Kelsey Kate had the speed to slice through at the first bend, to grab the front.

Kicking away in the back section, she held off the pair of She Rose High and Hi Sandy to score by 1 1/4 lengths.

The George Morschel trained bitch has a wonderful record at Queen Elizabeth Park, where she has now had four wins from six starts. Her time of 23.08 was the best time of the day over the 411 metres.

Local trainer Geoff Silvey had a career first in landing a winning double. He won both of the sprint maiden races with Ella Maree and Rossie's Fifty. Ella Maree was a well deserved winner as she had been near the money in recent runs. She was the best to begin, and was never headed in winning by a length, clocking 23.43. Rossie's Fifty had to a little harder, but joined the leaders as they reached the top bend. He hit the front, and held on tenaciously to salute by 3/4 length in 23.56.

The Casey family also celebrated two victories with littermates and Turbulent Teddy both greeting the judge. Mecca Magic got to the front past the 620 metre boxes and ran 23.10, whilst Turbulent Teddy railed under the early leader Flat Strap and won by 2 1/2 lengths. improved on her last week's second, to lead all of the way in the Mc Donald's Pharmacy maiden. The odds were short, but the punters held no fear as she romped away in the middle stages, eventually winning by two lengths. She recorded a good 27.67 for Toni and Charlie Northfield.

There were some close finishes on the day, including the win of in the distance race. Within Radar ran the equal best time over the 484 metres (27.34), when he was a big all of the way winner for Robbie Andrews, and Ultra Rumble shared that time, and was equally impressive, racing away by 6 1/2 lengths for .

In the remaining event Token Sentence came out running to a huge lead. He ran 27.58 for good supporter Darren Russell.

Casino will race again this Friay afternoon with the opening race at 12.30 pm.
