Knocka Knows All Sparks Up The Gardens Mega Maiden Heats
Exciting youngster, Knocka Knows All, delivered on all the hype by sizzling at The Gardens in one of the fastest maiden debuts ever at the Newcastle circuit in a heat of the $15,000 to the winner Greyhound Recorder Mega Maiden yesterday afternoon (Friday).
The Reg Kay owned and trained galloper set the track alight running a sensational 29.45, by far the fastest qualifier for next week’s rich final and in the process sent a stern warning to his rivals in the rich final.
Kay has stated over the past two months that the son of Knocka Norris and Miss Venamite, is the fastest chaser he has trained at the same age. This is a lofty statement considering the likes of Group one Winners and record breakers such as Elite State, Made To Size, Knocka Norris, Elite Oriental and Size Can Matter that have pass through his kennels.
“I have put my head on the chopping block letting people know how good he was and I’m glad he showed it today” said a relieved Kay after the race
“I was a worried he could get bowled over from the box, but he was all business.”
The other heat winner were Cousin Callum for astute trainer Ray Webster in 29.94, Big Band Appeal ran down the beautifully bred Things Missing also in 29.94, Goods Odds Knocka, another son of Knocka Norris lead all the way in 30.12, Latina looked strong in winning in a slick 29.76, and Price Diablo defeated King Pin Star in 29.66
