Lismore Workers Club Cup Set To Crown New Star

Following the running of four heats of the Workers Club Group 2 Cup at Lismore on Tuesday October 18, the final box draw has been conducted.

The $40,000 to the winner final will be conducted Tuesday October 25, with the expecting a large crowd to gather as a new star is crowned.

Queensland trained Bogie Beltah was the fast qualifier from the four heats, stopping the clock at 30.16, 6 ½ lengths clear of heat runner up Duffy.

Trainer is no stranger to group events having won the Derby with litter brother Bogie King at the Gardens in January this year.

A semi-finalist in the 2011 , Ayre admits Bogie Beltah is better suited to a rails draw however still anticipates the daughter of Collision x Bogie Skye can still give the Lismore Workers Club Cup a shake.

“I would rather the eight than a middle draw, but it is going to be tough to get across from the eight at Lismore,” Ayre said.

“I think she is the class bitch of the event, and it would be great to see her win of a group event given how she is running at moment.

“If she is a few off them heading into the back I think she can still win, she put the time on the board last night, things just have to go the right way,” Ayre said.

The other three heat winners included Black Candy (30.25) Aretha Trick (30.36) and Uptown Diva (30.67).
